Recipe Description

We have been working on a cornbread recipe that works good with Maseca. This one came out amazing.

Ingredients

QuaUnitIngredient 
1 1/2 cups maseca
2 1/2 cups milk
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tb baking powder
1 ts salt
2/3 cup white sugar
2 ea eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil

Method & Notes

  1. Mix the milk and maseca. Let stand for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Mix dry ingredients.
  3. Mix corn mush, oil, and eggs into dry ingredients.
  4. Beat until smooth.
  5. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 cake pan. 6 . Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and a skewer comes out clean.
  • I like a chopped jalapeno in this bread
