Recipe Description

These shrimp are ideal as a hors d'oeuvre or a light meal.

Ingredients

1 pound 16/20 shrimp
1 ts garlic, minced
1 tb minced ginger
1 tb soy sauce
1/2 ts Sriracha sauceView Recipe
1 ea lime
1/4 cup corn starch
1 ea egg white
2 tb water
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup ponzu glazeView Recipe

Method & Notes

  1. Peel the shrimp
  2. Marinate in the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sriracha, and lime juice for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the shrimp and pat dry.
  4. Toss the shrimp in the corn starch.
  5. Mix the egg white and water.
  6. Dip the shrimp in the egg/water, then coat in the sesame seeds (you may need more seeds).
  7. Fry the shrimp in 1/2 inch of peanut oil.
  8. Serve with the ponzu glaze.
